When I started this blog it was to try and keep myself on track into getting my body into shape. Yeah, that hasn't happened. But...since my brother-in-law has decided to lose 25 lbs by the end of the year I decided to join up and commit to losing 15, instead of waiting for the new year and gaining 15 through the Holidays. Will it actually happen? Who knows. But at least it's a goal I can work towards. Since I'm holding myself accountable I guess I better post my starting weight 212.8. Ugh!
To help myself keep in the midset of "I can do this" I heard or read something the other day about thinking about food the same way I think about drugs/alcohol. You need to realize that some food is just as bad or as addicting as other things that aren't good for the body. So, if you see me eating/drinking junk (ie soda, candy, sweets) please ask me how my most recent goal is to help me stay on track.
And thanks to my dad and grandpa I know have some delicious apples to snack on instead!

Birthday 2012
For my birthday this year we went up Big Cottonwood Canyon for a picnic. We had some yummy baked potatoes and chili. Thanks to Jalaine for baking the potatoes and to Greg for being the chili heater upper man. After eating we went for a walk around Silver Lake. The two kiddos and myself went one way where we saw this lovely creature
Not sure what he's doing here.
After we got back to Jalaine's house we had cake that was beautifully decorated by her and Lex.
They tried to tell me it was decorated in fall colors, but I really know it was sec
etly a USC cake, regardless it was delicious!
The little eyes on Mas got so big, he stopped on the boardwalk and told us "Shh, don't move".
We kept walking around and met up with eveyone else who had gone the other way around and stopped for a little photo shoot.

What do we do in Vale Oregon?
I love my hometown. Well let me clarify. I loved growing up there, there's nothing like knowing pretty much everyone. I love going back to visit. I love the quiet country, and the fact that you can see the sky without having buildings in your way. However, there's not a whole lot to do when you go back. Which is one of the glorious reasons I love going back to visit. Sometimes bigger towns just make you feeled rushed. So on the latest visit to Vale in the late summertime this is some of what we did.

Drove out to the old homestead and saw the neighbors horses
Went to visit the feedlot. I believe this photo is one Lexi took, she wanted to take a picture of the cows but they were on the other side of the pen so you can't see them very well.
Hopped up into one of the tractors.
And thanks to my wonderful mother, canned some delicious Sweet and Sour Sauce and Salsa.

Tulip Festival 2012
Roses, Carnations, Orchids, Sunflowers, Peonies. All are nice flowers but Tulips are my FAVORITE!
I drug Ashlee to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point this year. I've always wanted to go but for one reason or another (ie had to work, didn't have money, couldn't drag anyone with me).
The waterfall. Next to it is a hill (outdoor amphitheater) were I've heard they have concerts sometime. Heads up Ash we'll be going to one of those sometime in our lifetime.
Red, Yellow, Purple, Pink. Doesn't matter what color they are, Tulips are a little piece of heaven.
Fountain on the grounds. I was amazed at how big the garden actually was.
I didn't get a pic of the really dark purple ones that were absolutely G-E-O-R-G-O-U-S, so I stopped to take one of these lovely little things.
More proof that color or level of openess (I'm not a gardener I don't know techincal terms) doesn't matter.
I love tulips. I love Thanksgiving Point for bringing me the Tulip Festival. I love that I now only have to wait 9 more months until I can go again. Stay tuned for Tulip Festival 2013.

October 2011
Wow I am way behind at document life. Maybe someday I'll get caught up. But as for now I'll just plan on one post at a time. Although when I signed in it told me my browser is no longer compatable so this may not even work for me tonight (guess I should say morning since it is now 02:22, and for those who are wondering why I'm up at this fine hour...Working. The End.
I was able to go visit my wonderful Sister Valerie and her family in October for my cute nephews baptism. He was baptized on her birthday so all sorts of partying went on that day.

Here is Cason with his candy/money lei a lady in the ward made for him
Not sure why she's hiding, not really sure if she wants to be in the picture or not. Don't let her fool you she is not shy and is a cleaver little thing.
Her fire extinguisher cake. The house was all decorated for her when we got back from dinner. Even though she married a cop, I'm guessing her real true love is a hot fireman somewhere.
