Love/Hate Relationship
I love the Holidays. Hate the 20 lbs that comes with the Holidays. Love the lights, music, treats. Hate that it's so busy finding time to go to the gym is difficult. Love the smells, presents, and especially how excited children get. Hate that I really need to get my butt back in gear and back on track. But I will. May take me a couple days to get there but the thoughts are in my head. That should count for something right?

Happy Thanksgiving
TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING, BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS, I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.
THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED -THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED -THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.
TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION,
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.
SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.
GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.
I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.
I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY,
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.
BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES...
HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.
MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY, MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP.
MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS. MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL

New Goal Revised
A couple weeks ago I dropped an almost full can of Redi-Whip on my big toe. Right where the toe-nail meets the toe. It's still very black and I'm just waiting for the day I look down and am missing a toe nail. (I'll post a pic if I can figure out how to get a photo from my phone to the blog. Still figuring this stuff out). Once it finally got to the point that I could put shoes on again I came down with a little cold. Not a big one, just a little one. But it wiped me out for a couple of days. Needless to say I didn't do a very good job in going to the gym for a couple of weeks.
So being the realist I can sometimes be I had to take another look at my latest goal.
Yesterday when I got on the dreaded scale the number glaring back at me was (now read this in a hushed but somewhat not too embarrassed tone) 198. Yay, I'm finally under 200 and keeping it there. Now that I've just jinsked myself, I'll have to knock on wood. Because of the toe and cold I'm only doing 4.5 miles on level 3 instead of up to level 4 like I originally hoped. I'll bump that up next month. I've been trying to do some push-ups (no not the bra, with my actual arms, building up the biceps) or some weight training on one of the machines at the gym each day. Baby Steps.
I am now hoping to be around 190 lbs by the first part of Dec. Guess the piece of cheesecake I had for dessert isn't going to help me get there. But watch out gym. Here I come. Everyday this week. Even as busy as the week is going to be I have to take the time to come visit. Even if it means coming at 0800 after I've been up all night working.

Keep Driving
One day a young lady was driving along with her father. They came upon a storm, and the young lady asked her father, What should I do?" He said "keep driving".
Cars began to pull over to the side, the storm was getting worse. "What should I do." The young lady asked? "Keep driving," her father replied.
On up a few feet, she noticed that eighteen wheelers were also pulling over. She told her dad, "I must pull over, I can barely see ahead. It is terrible, and everyone is pulling over!" Her father told her, "Don't give up, just keep driving!"
Now the storm was terrible, but she never stopped driving, and soon she could see a little more clearly. After a couple of miles she was again on dry land, and the sun came out. Her father said, "Now you can pull over and get out." She said "But why now?" He said "When you get out, look back at all the people that gave up and are still in the storm, because you never gave up your storm is now over.
Just because everyone else, even the strongest, gives up. You don't have to...if you keep going, soon your storm will be over and the sun will shine upon your face again.
I've "given up" many times before. Not this time! Do I do everything right, no. Do I do everything I know I need to be doing, no. Am I at least trying, YES.

Failure/Weekend/New Goal
I did not make my previous goal of loosing 10 lbs by my birthday. :( But no worries, that's not gonna get me down. I know it's my own fault. I wasn't eating like I should and I wasn't going to the gym as often as I should towards the end. (or since, (insert slap on hand here)).
Before I introduce my new goal I want to tell you all about my weekend. Yes I know a new weekend is almost here. But I'm slow.
On Friday I got to go on a 4-Wheeler ride up over Daniel's Summit with my co-worker Carole Ann. Thanks for the fun woman! Besides being a very rocky ride and not being able to move my arms by the end I enjoyed it.
Saturday I went to Salt Lake with Ashlee. Again a very fun evening! No I didn't get the divine inspiration on what to do with my life but got some other good words of advice. And then got to enjoy a very delious meal from Corner Bakery Cafe. My mouth waters just thinking about it.
And now the moment you've all been waiting for. My latest goal...20 lbs by Thanksgiving. Um, ya I guess that's right. Starting weight for this time 204.6, I told you I've been bad lately. 4.5 miles at the gym on level 4. And hopefully a little bit of weight lifting. Hope to check back soon.

Under 200
I was hoping when I got on the dreaded scale this morning it would have a number that didn't start with a 2. Alas it was 201.6. Guess I just need to work a little harder at the gym this week. Time to clock out and head on over to get my 4 miles in for the day.

Here goes
This will follow my quest to find not only the healthier person that's inside me, but also to try and get my life more involved in things around me.
I started my getting healthier quest a few weeks ago. I have to set little goals for myself to obtain my ultimate goal, which I really haven't decided on yet. Whether it be to lose a certain amount of weight or to fit into a certain size of clothes or something else. I'll figure it out as I reach the little goals along the way. My first goal is to lose 10 pounds by my birthday. I am now at...(insert face of fear of everyone knowing this) 203.2 pounds. Yikes. The heaviest I ever weighed myself in was 212. Bigger YIKES. Ok now that's over with. Whew.
Within this little goal is even smaller goals. I started off eliminating one thing each week from my food intake. First was caloric drinks, next was chocolate. That's as far as I got with that smaller goal. Need to get on that again.
My "smaller goal" this week is to do 4 miles at the gym each day. The biggest challenge here is making it to the gym each day.
Well it's time for me to go home.
I don't promise to update this frequently but I'll do my best. Until next time.
